This is a comparison of several different approaches in using the HDR process from Photoshop CS3 to reduce noise.  Two RAW images, supplied by  Guillermo Lujik   were used, see   http://luminous-landscape.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=17775               for more detail.
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
The image above was made in CS3, HDR, automatically.  Almost no processing was applied except to set the exposure compensation to 0 and the gamma to 1 after the HDR image was made.  The resulting 32bit image was converted to an 8 bit jpg and saved with compression setting of 8.
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 The image above was made by applying the Photomatix tone map CS3 plug-in to the CS3 HDR image.  The default tone map settings (Photomatix defaults as supplied) were used.
